What a rare and precious find on the Hampshire downs.
My thoughts and feelings about the wildlife I see. I am drawn to the vanishing wildlife I encounter, such as the wood-white butterfly, the nightingale and the endangered smooth snake. To these could be added the ancient Shoebill Stork, the Mysterious Marabou, the Mountain Gorilla and the Chimpanzee....and a host of others, great and small.

Perfect Lesser Centaury
Here is the perfect flower. A diminuitive holy grail for botanists. A lucky find indeed and one which rarely opens its flowers to the sun.
Yellow Centaury
What a tiny and rare plant this is. Once again, it is an inhabitant of the ephemeral puddles of the New Forest heaths.
Penny Royal
What a beautiful and very rare mint this is. Perfect in poise and scent and fragrance. Sadly, very rare now and strictly protected.
