The whistling duck family has always been one of my favourites. They are birds of great personality and there are several related species. The fulvous whistling duck of Africa is a shy and often nocturnal bird of the great swamp lands of the Senegal and Gambia Rivers and the mighty Djoudj National Park.
My thoughts and feelings about the wildlife I see. I am drawn to the vanishing wildlife I encounter, such as the wood-white butterfly, the nightingale and the endangered smooth snake. To these could be added the ancient Shoebill Stork, the Mysterious Marabou, the Mountain Gorilla and the Chimpanzee....and a host of others, great and small.

Silver Studded Blues Mating
These tiny, beautiful butterflies are now rare and fast declining. They are found on the heaths of Southern England and are divided into 4 races. Two others are extinct already.
