My thoughts and feelings about the wildlife I see. I am drawn to the vanishing wildlife I encounter, such as the wood-white butterfly, the nightingale and the endangered smooth snake. To these could be added the ancient Shoebill Stork, the Mysterious Marabou, the Mountain Gorilla and the Chimpanzee....and a host of others, great and small.
Deep in the heart of Surrey, there lurks this amazing mushroom. The deadly gyromitra is often found on old wood chippings. It is by no means common and should never be confused with the true morels which are very good to eat.
The autumn fungi are ethereally beautiful and I have decided to include a few photos here. The chanterelles glowing deep in the woodlands are truly amazing and magical, but a carpet of wood blewitts is equally so.
